SQL Database Administrator

Overview

We are looking for a an SQL Database Administrator to support one of our US clients. This role will be
responsible for developing, maintaining and enhancing an effective Data Warehouse and MS SQL Database
environment through collaboration with key business partners, internal IT staff and external contractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation, deployment and maintenance of databases in both development and production environments
  • Setup and management of database resilience and backup strategies
  • Automation of regular database support activities
  • Perform regular database maintenance activities such as data loads, data fixes, database copies,
    software installs / upgrades / patches, etc
  • Working closely with the different stakeholders, recommend and implement database and datawarehouse enhancements and release upgrades, ensuring the development is in line with business objectives and standards.
  • Identify, report, and fix material bugs and deficiencies in the tools used, utilizing internal and external resources
  • Map and document our database environment and processes
  • Research new database trends and industry changes
  • Recommend and implement ideas for continuous improvement as agreed

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven knowledge and key understanding of relational database development
  • Proven knowledge of SQL programming
  • Azure SQL Database Platform experience
  • Ability to perform requirements gathering on existing environment and documentation
  • Relevant Certifications and prove of continuous professional development
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point is essential
  • A self-motivated team player
  • Ability to work in a matrix environment
  • Ability to work in and manage multiple projects and meet established deadlines
  • Proven business analytical skills
  • Excellent oral and writing skills with ability to communicate in an organized and concise manner
  • Willing to wok on a night shift
